Family Partnership Team
At Kelford we pride ourselves on our effective communication and relationships with our families throughout school. The Family Partnership Team has been in place for a number of years now, with various members of the team offering a wide range of support and advice. It is our aim to ensure our families that they are not alone and together we can create positive learning opportunities for all involved.
Due to retirements and new job opportunities, our Family Partnership Team has had a complete restructure to allow for new members. Ashlea Johnson is currently leading the team; with over 8 years’ experience at Kelford, she is an approachable and confidential point of contact for parents in need. Steph Drew, who is currently on maternity leave, will be returning in September to join the team and support the medical needs throughout school. |

Within school we have several teams who have specially trained to deliver support and interventions for both staff and pupils. The Family Partnership Team link regularly with these teams to ensure the advice we give you is as appropriate and up to date as possible. Some of the areas include; Behaviour Management, Communication, Inclusion & Interventions and Medical needs. As a result of this we assist parents in the following; sign posting of information, behaviour management, sleep issues, assistance with completing benefit forms, advice re short breaks, positive communication in the family and much more!
The Family Partnership Team coordinates the medical needs throughout school, working closely with families and many different health professionals to promote the health and well-being of each child and young person. Both Ashlea and Steph can provide training for specific medical interventions to our colleagues including; First Aid, PEG Care, Epilepsy Care, Medication Administration & Awareness, Oxygen Therapy and Anaphylaxis Management.
Where we cannot provide the relevant training, the team will work closely with health professionals to ensure the needs can be met.
We are committed to working in a collaborative partnership with you, our families, both in school and at home. We want to identify areas of strengths and concerns early to ensure we can support your child and you to the best of our ability.
If you feel that you could benefit from the support of the Family Partnership Team, please do not hesitate to contact us on the details below.
