Level 2 Teaching Assistant (Supply)
We are looking for people to join our Supply Teaching Assistant Bank. We are extremely keen to hear from those who have experience of working with children and young people with Special Education Needs or those that just a have passion for working in a school and would like to gain experience.
A Supply Teaching Assistant is offered on a sessional contract and asked to work as and when required to cover short term absences, for example, staff sickness or training. You could be asked to work anywhere across the school, including our offsite provisions, with children and young people aged 2 to 19.
What’s good about Supply?
Flexibility - you can work as much or as little as you can; so this can fit round any other responsibilities or commitments you may already have.
Experience - Supply work gives you the opportunity to gain valuable experience and build on your CV. You could be working within a classroom environment providing general support or working with children on a one to one basis. It is also a great way to discover which aspects of SEN you enjoy the most.
Training & CPD - by joining our Supply TA Bank you will be asked to complete all of mandatory training requirements, the same as any employee, including Moving and Handling, Team Teach & Makaton.
Further Opportunities - being part of our Supply TA Bank means that you will be notified of any long term or permanent positions that are available at the school first hand.
If you are interested in being on our supply list then please complete the application form below and either email it to kelford.vacancies@nexusmat.org or post it to Sam Sayles, Kelford School, Oakdale Road, Rotherham, S61 2NU. We will then be in touch and at this point we would ask you to come into school for half a day on a voluntary basis. This is so that you can see the school at work and be sure that this is something you are interested in. If it is, we can then ensure all necessary paperwork is completed, mandatory recruitment checks are carried out and your induction to the school begins.
If you have any queries please contact Amanda Hobson or Sam Sayles on 01709 512088.
